Special Invitee of the Insolvency, Bankruptcy and Valuation Standards Board of ICAI for the year 2026
Mr. Abizer Diwanji has been appointed as a Special Invitee to the Insolvency, Bankruptcy and Valuation Standards Board (IBVSB) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for the year 2026–27.
The Board promotes excellence in insolvency and valuation practices, develops professional standards, and supports a fair corporate regime aligned with global best practices. The Board works closely with regulators and government bodies, including the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, SEBI, NSE, and the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India, while also fostering international collaboration and professional development. Key focus areas for 2026 include advancing RESOLVE 2026, formulating valuation standards for Plant & Machinery and Land & Building, and supporting capacity building following the enactment of the IBC Amendment Act 2026.
As a Special Invitee, Mr. Diwanji contributes his extensive experience and expertise to support the Board's initiatives, knowledge-sharing activities, and strategic discussions. The appointment reflects his significant contributions to the profession and his commitment to strengthening the insolvency and valuation ecosystem in India.

Task Force on Secondary Debt Market - RBI
Abizer was appointed as a committee member of the Reserve Bank of India’s task force led by T.N. Manoharan to develop a robust secondary market for corporate loans. The 2019 report included recommendations for an online loan sales platform, a Self-Regulatory Body (SRB), and a Central Loan Contract Registry (CLCR).

Cross-Border and Group Insolvency Committee - MCA
Abizer was a member of the Cross-Border Insolvency Rules/Regulations Committee (CBIRC), established by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The committee developed a framework for cross-border and group insolvency aligned with the UNCITRAL Model Law, offering a flexible approach to corporate group insolvencies.Body (SRB), and a Central Loan Contract Registry (CLCR).
